How to prepare RASAM (Telangana style)

RASAM is the simple tasty recipe made in most of the places. This style of recipe usually made in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. This is a quick, simple, yummy recipe made with very simple ingredients. Everyone can enjoy this recipe and can be made very easily.

Ingredients needed:
  • → Tamarind - 1 small cup (50grams)
  • → Onions - 1/4 cup
  • → Green chilli - 5-6 numbers
  • → Ginger and garlic paste - 1 teaspoon 
  • → Coriander leaves - 1 bunch
  • → Curry leaves - 1 bunch
  • → Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon 
  • → Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon 
  • → Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon 
  • → Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon 
  • → Oil - 2 teaspoons
  • → Salt to taste
  • → Sugar (optional)
  • → Rasam powder (optional)
  • → Water for soaking 

Preparation:

   1. Take a bowl and soak the tamarind in water for 20mins.
   2.cut the onions, green chilies into small pieces.
   3. Squeeze the juice from tamarind and make it into nice liquid like consistency.
   4. Heat oil in pan add mustard seeds after they splutter add cumin seeds, curry leaves, ginger and garlic paste, green chilies, salt, onions (if you love the cooked onions you can add it now or else you can add them in the last like garnishing) let them cook for 2mins.
    5. Finally add tamarind juice let it boil for 1-2mins then add coriander powder, garam masala, rasam powder, onions (if you like them), coriander leaves.
    6. Finally yummy delicious and tasty RASAM is ready to enjoy.
