How to prepare ALOO PARATHA

ALOO PARATHA is healthy tasty roti from Indian cuisine. This is very basic paratha which kids love very much. This paratha don't need any curry it can be eaten as breakfast and even in the dinner.

Ingredients needed:
(1 cup = 200grams)
  • → Aloo (potato) - 3 numbers
  • → Wheat flour - 1 cup
  • → Green chilies - 5-6 numbers or 
  •      Red chilli powder - 2 teaspoons
  • → Curry leaves (optional) - 1 bunch
  • → Coriander leaves (optional) - 1 bunch
  • → Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon 
  • → Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon 
  • → Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon 
  • → Ginger & garlic paste - 1 teaspoon 
  • → Onions (optional) - 1/4 cup
  • → Oil/ghee/butter (optional) - 2 teaspoons
  • → Salt to taste
  • → Water

Preparation:

   1. Take a bowl add wheat flour, oil (optional), salt, water then mix the ingredients, make it into soft dough, apply oil and keep aside for 15-20mins.
   2. Cut the potatoes into pieces and boil them for 20mins or pressure cook them on a slow flame until you get 5-6 whistles.
   3. Remove the peel and smash them totally.
   4. Heat the oil in a pan add mustard seeds, green chilies, curry leaves, turmeric, ginger & garlic paste, onions, coriander powder, salt, let them cook for 5mins, (if your adding red chilli powder add it before adding onions),then add smashed aloo into it, switch off the flame, mix well until everything mixes well with aloo then add coriander leaves and keep aside until it cools down.
   5. Take the dough make them into lemon sized dumplings, (if you like thin parathas take stuffing less than the dough otherwise you stuffing should be more than the dough)  take the dough and roll into poori size, stuff the aloo mixture into it, seal it, make it into dough and roll the paratha then cook both sides on a slow flame with oil/butter.
   6. Finally the yummy tasty healthy aloo paratha is ready to enjoy. Serve it with curd or mixed vegetable pickle or any pickle.

Tip of the day: After boiling potatoes put them in a ice/cool water for 5mins then the potatoes peel automatically gets separates themselves and it's very easy way.
