How to prepare PANEER BUTTER MASALA

PANEER BUTTER MASALA/PANEER MAKHANI is a yummy curry from Indian cuisine. In restaurants we usually find this recipe. It can be made easily with very simple ingredients with in few minutes. Everyone can enjoy this recipe. Make this recipe at home and impress your friends and family members.

Ingredients needed:
(1 cup = 200grams)
  • → Paneer - 1 cup
  • → Fresh cream - 1/4 cup
  • → Butter - 1/2 cup
  • → Tomatoes - 1/2 cup
  • → Milk - 1/2 cup
  • → Red food color - 2-3 drops 
  • → Onions (optional) - 1/4 cup
  • → Cardamom - 2 numbers
  • → Fried onions - 1/4 cup
  • → Cashew nuts - 1/4 cup
  • → Cinnamon - 2 numbers
  • → Kasuri meethi - 1 teaspoon 
  • → Red chili powder - 4 teaspoons or 
  • → Garam masala (optional) - 1 teaspoon 
  • → Coriander powder - 2 teaspoons 
  • → Cumin powder - 2 teaspoons 
  • → Ginger & garlic paste - 2 teaspoons 
  • → Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon 
  • → Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon 
  • → Coriander leaves - 1 bunch
  • → Curry leaves - 1 bunch
  • → Oil - 3 teaspoons 
  • → Salt to taste 
  • → Water

Preparation:
There are two ways of making one is the basic version and another is the quick version.

Basic version:
   1. Heat the pan add butter after the butter starts melting add cardamom, cinnamon, ginger & garlic paste, cashew nuts, onions (optional), tomatoes, saute it until the tomatoes are fully cooked and let it cool down completely.
   2. Take the blending jar, pour the tomatoes mixture and make into smooth paste.
   3. Heat the pan add butter after it starts melting add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, ginger & garlic paste, blended puree, milk, fresh cream, red chilli powder, food colour, salt, cook it until the butter comes out then add paneer, Kasuri meethi and cook it for 3mins.
    4. Garnish it with coriander, cashew nuts and fresh cream.
   5. Finally the yummy creamy delicious paneer butter masala is ready to serve and enjoy. You can enjoy this delicious curry with roti and rice.


Quick version:
   1. Take a mixing bowl add coriander powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, salt, cardamom powder then add milk, mix well and make into nice dosa batter consistency.
   2. Heat the pan add butter, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, ginger & garlic paste, cloves, cinnamon, tomato puree, fried onions, milk batter, cook it until the butter oozes out then add paneer, kasuri meethi, fresh cream and cook for 3 mins.
   3. Garnish it with coriander leaves and cashew nuts.
   4. Finally the delicious quick paneer butter masala is ready to serve and enjoy this yummy curry with roti or rice.

Cooking time: 30 mins, 15 mins
Preparation time: 15 mins, 5 mins
Total time: 45 mins, 20 mins

Tip of the day: If you want to make paneer soft, juicy then put the paneer in hot water for 3 mins, press little to remove water then add it into the gravy the paneer observes the spices, becomes soft and juicy. Use fresh paneer or else just fry the paneer in butter then add into curry. Adding onions is optional by adding it cuts the sourness from tomatoes and gives creamy smooth gravy.
