Tips for your kitchen:

Today we will see tips on selecting vegetables.

   1. TINDORA/DONDAKAYA/IVY GOURD: They will be ripen easily so while choosing choose perfect tindora and store them for longer period of time.
   - The color should green it should not be light green or red or any other color. The green color indicates that they are perfectly grown.
   - Select thin tindora's don't choose the fat ones because they can ripen faster compared to thin ones.

   2. BOTTLE GOURD/LAUKI: It has many names sorakaya, anamakaya. Sometimes they don't taste good and while cooking it takes lot of time if chose wrong one.
   -  The color should be combination of green and cream but it should full white or full green.
   - The stem part should be fresh and green in color if it is dry and black in color it will be hard inside better don't choose them.
   - Pinch using your nails when it goes easily then it is a fresh lauki when it is hard avoid them.

   3. BITTER GOURD/KAKARIKAYA: some people love the bitterness but some don't but it's healthy so we try to eat and try to remove the bitterness in them so while choosing choose less bitterness ones and enjoy.
   - It mostly depends on the color so the color should light green if they are dark green they are high in bitterness.
   - Choose the thin bitter gourd if you choose the fat ones they will ripen faster.

This will be bitter so don't choose these type of BITTER GOURD
 This will not be bitter so choose this one

   4. RIDGE GOURD/BIRAKAYA: They dry out easily.
   - While choosing press them in the middle if it is spongy then don't choose them they should hard inside.
   - The stem part should be green
   - The thin ones will be better compared to fat ones.

   5. SNAKE GOURD/POTLAKAYA: The skin will be so thick and hard to boil them.
   - The color should be light green if it is white in color that indicates the snake gourd is not perfectly grown the taste will not be good.
   - While bending if they should not break then they are perfect if they break easily then they are over grown so avoid them.
