Tips for your kitchen:

Today we will see tips on storing vegetables

   1. TOMATOES: It is very easily available vegetable in the market. It can be spoiled very fast so here is the tip.
   - If your tomatoes are unripe then put the tomatoes stem side down in a cardboard box or any paper bag in a cool place until they are nice red in colour.
   - If your tomatoes are red and ripe store in a room temperature where sunlight should not reach them. You can even store them in refrigerator in plastic bag removing the air from the plastic bag.

   2. POTATOES: This is also easily available vegetable in the market. It is very cheap and available in every season, but when we store potatoes they gets roots and it's not healthy to eat when they get roots so avoid getting roots.
   - After bringing them from market store them in a dark place for 1-2 weeks this makes the skin thicker and avoid getting roots from them.
   - somebody put onions and potatoes in a same basket this can bring the roots faster and can also spoils potatoes, so from now keep them separately.
   - If your storing potatoes in fridge store them in paper bag (it should contain small holes or you can put holes using pen).

   3. EGGPLANT (BRINJALS): This vegetable is everyone's favourite vegetable. Some times brinjals tastes extraordinary but some times they will not this is due to the storage of area, usage.
   - Eggplants are very sensitive to temperature they should be stored in cool place or at room temperature. Don't expose them to sunlight. Keep away from melons, tomatoes, onions and vegetables which releases ethylene gas this results in ripe of eggplants.
   - Store them in a paper bag with holes to pass the air or you can even store in a plastic bag placing it upside down in a refrigerator.
   - Best way to enjoy the taste of eggplants you can cook them ASAP with in 1 week after 1 week they loose their flavor.

   4. LADIES FINGER (OKRA): This is also easily available vegetable in the market. Cutting okra is big task because of its sticky nature, but when you make any dish using okra it tastes so yummy.
   - When you bring them from market firstly wash them nicely then put them in a cloth to remove excess water and after that let them dry for some time. When they are completely dried, store them in a paper bag and see that no air should pass into it or put them in a paper and seal it completely this way your okra's can stay fresh for 1-2 weeks.
